Medium-duty counterbalanced internal combustion pneumatic forklifts and liftrucks are among the equipment handled by Forklifts Wholesale International, Inc. We also supply many other types of material handling equipment. Medium sized pneumatic tire fork lifts can accommodate capacities from 16,500 lbs to 36,000 lbs. Fork lifts with internal combustion engines are most commonly equipped with six cylinder diesel engines. Occasionally such units come from the factory with the optional eight cylinder gasoline or LPG (propane) engines. Fork lifts in the medium to larger sizes usually have planetary drive axles, air brakes, and 3-speed powershift transmissions. Pneumatic forklifts in the medium-duty range equipped with internal combustion engines can be used indoors as long as there is adequate ventilation. These lift trucks are equipped with air filled pneumatic tires and are typically used outside on yard surfaces such as crushed concrete, packed gravel, or stabilized limestone. It is not recommended that medium-duty pneumatic tire forklifts to be used on dirt, except on a very limited basis, as long as it's well packed and not loose, or muddy. However, pneumatic tire forklifts can be used on hard, smooth surfaces such as concrete. The pneumatic tires on these medium-duty forklifts give them a larger turning radius than solid cushion warehouse tire forklifts and liftrucks. Medium-duty internal combustion pneumatic liftrucks can be used in a wide variety of applications due to their capacity. Warehouse forklifts in this range can also be used to stack pallets or various loads, as well as move pallets or loads around a facility.
